We kicked off the year with a dynamic AGM at the South Dumfries Historical Society, where members reflected on 2024 and looked ahead under President Heidi Gorter’s guidance.
🏡 Open House at St. George Lawn Bowling Club
In May, we welcomed members and guests to the renovated, fully accessible club on Thompson Street South for relaxed networking.
🚗 4th Annual Classic Car Show: June 22, 2025
Our classic car show roared back to life with:
200–250 shining vehicles, including a 1959 Cadillac Fleetwood and a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner.
Live music, vibrant food vendors, and a farmers market.
Coordinated road closures from 6 AM–4 PM for attendee safety.
Great exposure and foot traffic for downtown businesses.
🎄 2nd Annual Tree Lighting – Nov 27, 2025
Our tree lighting in Snowball Park sparkled anew:
🎶 Live music, hot chocolate, marshmallow roasting, bonfire, and a visit from Santa.
Years as travel editor for a NYC newspaper shaped my understanding of several special things. I love to convey the wonder and "whoa's!" of places I go, and I am always eager to share relevant tips to people like me, mainly etiquette and emotions.
